As a business owner or entrepreneur, having a well-developed plan is essential in creating success. Developing a business plan does not have to be an intimidating process. By understanding the essential components to include in the plan, you can be better prepared for its compilation and submitting of the final product. When it comes to creating a successful business plan, there are certain elements that must be included. Start by including an executive summary which explains the purpose of your company, who is involved (owners and key members of staff), what services or products will be offered, target market and pricing structure for these items and services. This should be followed by an analysis of the competition as competitors should never go ignored when organizing your own system. You should also include detailed information regarding how you will finance your venture and any statistics that back up why starting this particular type of business could be successful.

Next you should describe the company operations in further detail. What type of facility will it run from? What special equipment would need to be acquired? Will liability insurance be sought out beforehand? An operations section will also provide other management roles and duties within the organization as well as any outside consultants needed to ensure operations are running smoothly such as legal representation, financial advisors etc.
